His Tosca at La Scala in Feburary 2011 was received with great acclaim by critics and audience. Enrico Girardi wrote in the Corriere della sera: “The personality, the charisma, the theatrical talent of this 30 year old Israeli are those destined to the highest aims. The orchestra plays with theatrical expression but always moderately, exploiting the full range of colors. [...] It is the debut of a phenomenon.” (Corriere della sera, 18 February 2011)

In June 2013, he conducted the jubilee performance of Aida with La Fura dels Baus at the Arena di Verona to great acclaim. The premiere was broadcast by German public TV ZDF and reached 1,4 million viewers. The performance will see its revival in July 2015.  During the season he will also return to the Orchestra dell’Arena di Verona twice for symphonic concerts in October 2014 and March 2015.
