On Saturday, 20
June, the premiere of the new production of Mozart’s Le nozze di Figaro took
place at Semperoper Dresden. Omer Meir Wellber stood at the ramp of the
Staatskapelle Dresden and also played the harpsichord and pianoforte during the
recitatives. Director Johannes Erath put this new production on stage.
In the current season there are further performances on 23 and 25 June, and
also on 4 July.
Le nozze di Figaro is the second production of the Mozart / Da Ponte trilogy at
the Semperoper. Last season Andreas Kriegenburg directed Cosi Fan Tutte and in
2015/16 he will return to the opera in Dresden with Don Giovanni.
Omer Meir Wellber is the conductor of all three new productions.
The production
will also be guest at the Savonlinna Opera Festival Mid July.
