Omer Meir Wellber is returning to the Israeli Opera to conduct a new production of Otello. Based on Shakespeare’s play Verdi has created a musical drama in which Moor Otello (Gustavo Porta/Kor Jan Dusseljee) murders his Venetian wife Desdemona (Ira Bertman/Ilona Mataradze) in a rage of uncontrolled jealousy created by the evil Iago (Marco Vratogna/ Luca Grassi).
Omer Meir Wellber regularly appears at the Israeli Opera and has conducted many productions including La forza del destino, Il trovatore, Turandot, Madama Butterfly, La Gioconda and Cosi fan tutte.
