In collaboration with the Arena di Verona, the Raanana Symphonette Orchestra – conducted by Omer Meir Wellber – celebrates Verdi’s 200th birthday with a special open air gala concert at Amphipark in Raanana on 25 July 2013. The programme features arias from Verdi operas such as Aida, Nabucco, La Traviata and Rigoletto presented by soloists of the Arena di Verona and the Israeli Opera together with deputy Artistic Director of the Arena di Verona Giampiero Sobrino as solo clarinettist, Israeli musician and composer Shlomi Shaban and the Tel Aviv Chamber Choir.
The gala will be held in the week of Tu Be Aw – the Israeli Valentine’s day.
In June and July Omer Meir Wellber conducts the Aida at the Verona di Verona that was broadcast by German public TV ZDF with 1.4 million viewers.
