Launch of Sarab – Strings of Change with Omer Meir Wellber

On Wednesday, 9 September 2015 the Bedouin-Jewish Organization A New Dawn in the Negev, the Al Salem Elementary School, The Be’er Sheva Conservatory of Music and initiator and founding member Omer Meir Wellber will present the launch of the innovative music education project Sarab – Strings of Change. The children participating in the project, their parents, the education offices and the municipality of Rahat, where the school is situated, will be invited. The mayor of Rahat will make a speech on this occasion.

Sarab is a project that strives to introduce a life transforming music program where it is needed most: among the Bedouins of the Negev, one of the poorest and most discriminated groups within Israeli society. It is an educational program that is changing lives in the Bedouin community and doing much more than only teaching children to play an instrument. Widely accepted in the Bedouin community, Sarab is bringing confidence to young children and widening their scope of the world.
